In order to root your phone the first thing you need to know is which version of Android that you’re running. The easiest way to check is through Settings -> About Phone. This can of course vary slightly between different models but just look around in your settings and you’ll find it.
The image to the left demonstrates what it usually looks like. In this case the Android version is 2.3.3.
After establishing which android version you have you need to select your version to the right (sometimes bottom on mobile devices). The download contains both files and instructions in order to easily root your device.
In our example image version 2.3.3 would mean downloading the files and instructions for “Gingerbread”.
